Don’t just read history, live it!

We are the Society for Creative Anachronisms (SCA) shire that covers all of central South Dakota. The SCA is a Living History group dedicated to learning about and living va-rious cultures from before 1600. We like to say we recreate the best parts of the Middle Ages and Renaissance without the bad. So no religious wars, chamber pots emptied out the window or Bubonic Plague! But lots of doing of art, music, cooking, sewing, metal craft, calligraphy, and combat.  While dressed in clothing of the Middle Ages and Renaissance, you can experience tournaments, royal courts, feasts, and dancing.

We have other get-togethers throughout the month. Keep up to date by joining the Shire Facebook group.

All ages are welcome. The SCA is a great place to make friends and learn new skills. Find out more at
